The Heart Behind Our Story

Ana Castañeda, a proud Honduran native, is the heart behind La Colmenita. Raised in a family of educators, the value of nurturing young minds was instilled in her from an early age. With nearly 20 years of hands-on experience in early childhood, Ana has dedicated her career to creating high-quality learning experiences for young children.

As a devoted wife and mother of two, her desire for her own children to grow up in a safe, loving, and multilingual environment—and to see the world with compassion and appreciation for a rich tapestry of cultures—fueled her vision for La Colmenita.

She deeply understands the importance of a nurturing space where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow. Through La Colmenita, Ana has built a unique Spanish immersion program that beautifully reflects both her love for children and her rich Honduran heritage.

Her commitment to celebrating diverse cultures and traditions makes La Colmenita not just a preschool, but a vibrant community full of learning, love, and discovery.
